About Friedrich
Friedrich Kalix was born in 1976 in Geneva and grew up in Veyrier. Passionate about mathematics and physics, he concluded his studies in civil engineering in 2000 at the Ecole Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne (EPFL) coupled with an exchange year at the Technische Universität Berlin (TUB). In 2009, he joined the Geneva committee of the Society of Engineers and Architects (SIA) where he still sits today.
Experience
2000 - 2018
After graduating, he began his professional career at Guscetti & Tournier SA, which later became Ingeni SA. He works on large-scale projects in the Geneva region, including the construction of the Rolex production unit in Plan-les-Ouates, stages 5 and 6 of the HUG University Medical Center and the RTS buildings on boulevard Carl- Vogt.
2018 - 2020
In 2018, on the strength of his experience and in a desire to evolve in his know-how, “he joined, as director of the structures sector, the Geneva subsidiary of the Amsler Bombelli SA office. He leads around twenty employees there and oversees numerous projects including the Tour Opale, the P+R at the CEVA halt, the Tourmaline and Saphir buildings.
2020 - 2023
In 2020, he joined Le Collectif Sàrl as a senior project manager to give support to the supervision of the company. He provides engineering services for a large volume of mandates, manages and supervises projects for transformation, elevation, new buildings, footbridges and lake works. There, he perfected his knowledge of the design of wood and mixed wood-concrete structures.
2023
On the strength of his experience, Friedrich Kalix set himself a new challenge and founded the company KLX engineering Sàrl. It wants to develop its activities in the Arve-Lac region in Geneva, in order to meet a need for proximity and responsiveness that is sometimes lacking for customers, architects and other construction partners.
